I write a lot of blogs about problems. Broken age checks, data honeypots, compliance deadlines nobody is ready for. This one is different. This one is about momentum.
Three fronts are moving at once, and privacy KYC is winning on all of them.
Thailand is live and expanding. Australia’s Tranche 2 businesses are working through the compliance obligations we built ShareRing to solve, and we have a new partner helping them do it. And Tim is in China right now, meeting with partner opportunities in the region. I wanted to give you the real update, not a press release, on where things stand.
The numbers this is building toward.
Behind the signed work sits a pipeline of opportunities in negotiation totalling around 40 million users, each verifying multiple times a month. Once these roll out, we expect the curve to steepen. Every company and country that watches a privacy-focused document wallet work at national scale ends up wanting one of their own.
Thailand: from one deployment to a network.
Prompt Pass, Thailand’s first digital document wallet, went live on 18 June with SBAC as the first issuer, built with TKC and Transformational as the national trust infrastructure layer and ShareRing as the verifiable credential engine underneath it. The proof point landed almost immediately. SBAC students received verifiable digital transcripts through Prompt Pass and used them at Career Day, no paper, no forgeries, just a phone and a verified credential. Since then, the foundations have kept moving. We have signed an MOU with TKC and Transformational that builds directly on the alliance we announced in April, our integration with Thailand Post is expanding well beyond the wallet, and we are planning a major rollout with one of Thailand’s leading universities, covering staff, students, graduates and alumni. The pattern we like: prove it once, then scale the proof.
The public roadmap keeps filling in too. A network of Thai universities begins issuing credentials later this year, and talks are already underway across financial services, hospitality and public administration. Prompt Pass runs inside Prompt Post, Thailand Post’s digital platform under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and aligned with ETDA’s standards. Each new issuer makes every wallet more useful. That network effect is the whole point of building shared infrastructure instead of another isolated app.
And this week, Tim is in China meeting with partner opportunities. Nothing is signed yet, and I am not going to dress up meetings as milestones. But the reason he is there is simple: the playbook that worked in Thailand, national infrastructure plus a credential engine that respects privacy by design, does not stay in one country.
Australia: Tranche 2 stopped being a countdown and started being real.
On 1 July, AUSTRAC’s Tranche 2 obligations went live for around 80,000 newly regulated businesses, lawyers, accountants, conveyancers, real estate professionals, and more. Enrolment closed on 29 July. That deadline has now passed, and every business it touched is either compliant or exposed. We have been writing about this since March, most recently in AUSTRAC Tranche 2 compliance: what 1 July 2026 means for Australian businesses.
Here is what those numbers mean in practice. Around 500,000 Australian homes change hands in a typical year, roughly six per cent of the housing stock. Every one of those sales now happens inside the AML/CTF regime. The agent who lists the property, the conveyancer who settles it and the lawyer who advises on it each carry customer due diligence obligations, and both buyer and seller need verifying, usually by more than one professional in the same transaction. Property alone puts well over a million identity checks a year on the table, and every single one is a choice between storing another passport scan and accepting a private, reusable proof.
Here is the part I am most proud of. We have onboarded a new Australian partner focused squarely on AML/CTF Tranche 2 compliance, with ShareRing running the identity verification inside their platform and the first 100 agents already onboarded. That is not a pilot. That is professionals meeting a hard legal obligation with a privacy-first verification layer instead of a filing cabinet full of scanned licences. The next chapter: taking privacy KYC to market properly.
One partnership proves the model. The next step is scale, and we are close. We are finalising a new reseller partnership with a firm that knows Tranche 2 compliance cold, built specifically to take privacy KYC to the market at the volume this regulation demands. I am not naming names yet because the ink is not dry, but this deserves its own dedicated post, and it is coming soon.
