Southeast Asia Expansion

Thanks to everyone who took part. A number of questions fell outside the scope of this Expansion Strategy Q&A, and we’ll be addressing those in an upcoming technical Q&A.

Thailand as the Entry Point for Southeast Asia

Paul (@pd3929) asked:

“Would love a deep dive into how the relationship with @Bi_Ariya started and how you plan to expand this joint venture with LSOs (Licensed Service Operators), enterprise and governments? And also a forecast on how many users will be using this technology over the next 5 years?”

Rohan Le Page:
The relationship with Ariya Banomyong has been developing over several years and did not happen overnight.

As Tim Bos has explained, the initial connection was made around three to four years ago through a trusted introduction in Thailand. At the time, early discussions explored how ShareRing technology could support ticketing and attendee verification, but the market was not yet ready for self sovereign, portable digital identity solutions. External conditions, particularly during the COVID period, also shifted priorities.

Despite this, the relationship continued. Regular contact and in person discussions followed after Ariya went on to found Transformational, allowing both sides to better understand how their capabilities could align over time.

By the middle of last year, conditions in Thailand began to shift. Privacy first digital identity started gaining traction across private industry and government use cases. That change created the right environment to formalise the partnership and begin planning for broader regional expansion.

The current investment and value added reseller arrangement reflects that long running groundwork. Ariya brings strong local execution capability and experience working with regulators, Licensed Service Operators, and large organisations. ShareRing provides the decentralised identity and transaction infrastructure underneath those use cases, allowing the partnership to move from planning into live deployments.

On user forecasts, we remain conservative. The focus is on delivering production ready solutions and letting adoption follow real usage. As deployments scale, we will share actual metrics rather than speculative projections.


Paul (@pd3929) also asked:

“Transformational and ShareRing will clearly have a large role to play in Thailand, but how does the team plan to expand beyond this to all of SE Asia (Southeast Asia)?”

Rohan Le Page:
Thailand is a strong starting point because we are already working closely with regulators and partners on the ground.

Expansion across Southeast Asia will follow a market by market approach, prioritising countries where we have identified that emerging economies are in a great position to quickly adopt a privacy first digital identity system like what we have developed, local partners are established, and there is immediate demand for compliant identity infrastructure.

Rather than attempting a broad regional rollout, the strategy is to replicate what works in Thailand and adapt it locally in each market to support long term adoption.


Enterprise and Government Readiness in SEA

Paigow asked:

“Once real clients are live, will transactions stop working for hours like they do now?”

Rohan Le Page:
What people see today reflects early stage operating conditions rather than the underlying capability of the platform.

Flowback transactions can pause when the wallet funding those transactions needs to be replenished. This process is handled deliberately due to security controls around treasury management and the need to source additional tokens from time to time.

As more clients come online and organic transaction volume increases across Southeast Asia, these gaps naturally close. Over time, transaction flows become self sustaining rather than centrally funded.

Production environments for enterprise and government clients are designed for continuous operation, with monitoring and funding processes aligned to commercial scale requirements.


Additional Questions From Industry and Partners

What is the significance of ShareRing acquiring a 25 percent stake in Transformational?

Rohan Le Page:
This goes beyond a standard commercial partnership. As Tim Bos has noted, the equity position reflects a deeper strategic alignment. Many large enterprises in Thailand are reluctant to deal with foreign entities, so the investment also helps to remove that barrier to entry into government and large enterprise in Thailand.

By holding a stake in a Southeast Asia focused venture builder, ShareRing moves from being a technology provider to a long term partner in regional digital transformation initiatives. This alignment helps ensure ShareRing infrastructure is considered early in large scale enterprise and government programs in Thailand and, over time, across the broader region.


Who is Ariya Banomyong, and why is his involvement important?

Rohan Le Page:
Ariya brings extensive experience operating at senior levels across technology, media, and digital platforms in Thailand and the wider region.

As highlighted by Tim, his background includes senior leadership roles such as GM at Google and GM at Line. He was responsible for overseeing the regional launch of many of Google’s most popular products, as well as leading digital transformation initiatives within large Thai organisations. That experience and network help bridge the gap between global technology platforms and local regulatory, enterprise, and government environments.

For ShareRing, this significantly strengthens local execution and credibility in markets that can be difficult for foreign infrastructure providers to enter alone.


What does the Value Added Reseller (VAR) agreement mean in practice?

Rohan Le Page:
The VAR agreement allows Transformational to formally sell, integrate, and deploy ShareRing’s product suite, including components such as the ShareRing Me software development kit, within their client ecosystems.

Transformational manages local sales, relationships, and their own development team that builds on top of the ShareRing platform, particularly around any customisation that might be required, or client-side development. At the same time, ShareRing provides the underlying decentralised identity and transaction infrastructure. As Tim has explained, this structure allows ShareRing to scale across Southeast Asia without needing to build a large, region specific sales and delivery organisation from scratch.


How does this affect SHR token utilisation?

Rohan Le Page:
The SHR token underpins activity on the ShareLedger blockchain.

As identity credentials are created, documents are verified, or secure transactions are processed through ShareRing’s software components, on chain activity is generated. As Transformational integrates these components into larger applications, overall network usage increases accordingly.

Each new deployment creates recurring demand for SHR to support verification and security processes, linking real world usage directly to network activity.


Can we expect an increase in transaction volumes as a result of this expansion?

Rohan Le Page:
Yes, over time. While architecture and commercial arrangements are still being finalised for several engagements, the scale of the partners involved supports meaningful growth in transaction activity.

Initial deployments are expected to begin in the near term, with subsequent phases focused on broader rollout. Some planned integrations involve consumer facing applications with very large user bases, which would naturally drive higher transaction volumes as adoption increases.


How does this benefit the wider ShareRing community?

Increased real world usage strengthens the entire ecosystem.

As Tim has noted, higher transaction volumes through production deployments increase overall network activity and visibility. More importantly, it reflects a shift from experimental implementations toward ShareRing operating as foundational infrastructure within a major regional economy. That transition is critical for long term sustainability and adoption.
